Morrow goal lifts Stars in eight-round shootout

After one-sided victories over the Chicago Blackhawks in their first three meetings this season, the Dallas Stars didn't figure to get much of a fight.

This time the Blackhawks made the Stars sweat.

Brenden Morrow scored in the eighth round of a shootout to give the Stars their 11th victory without a loss in the NHL's new tiebreaker, a 3-2 decision over the Blackhawks on Friday night.

Blues-Blackhawks Preview

GAME: St. Louis Blues (20-38-12) at Chicago Blackhawks (21-38-11).

TIME: Wednesday, 8:30 p.m. EST.

In a season filled with dreadful moments for the St. Louis Blues, forward Keith Tkachuk believes the team is currently playing its worst hockey.

St. Louis looks to end a seven-game losing streak when it visits the Chicago Blackhawks in a meeting of the worst teams in the Western Conference.

Sharks 5, Blackhawks 4, OT

Joe Thornton finds his teammates when they have the best angle to shoot and gives them the puck at the split second they're open.

He's been doing it since joining the San Jose Sharks nearly four months ago. It's a reason they're back in the Western Conference playoff picture.

Thornton got the puck to Tom Preissing, who scored the winner 1:24 into overtime Sunday night with a slapper from the high slot as the Sharks beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4.
